In Dragon's Den, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to present their idea to five "Dragons". The "Dragons" and people successful businessmen seeking to invest their funds in exchange for a stake in the business and future profits.
In the United Kingdom, the program is shown on the BBC and presented by an economist - Evan Davies. I like the way he presents the show and talks with employers, after meeting with the Dragons are very entertaining.
The program was a great success because it was exposed 2005. Initially, the presenters were Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Simon Woodroffe, Rachel Elnaugh and Richard Douglas. Theo Paphitis took over after Simon Woodruff Series 1. Deborah Meaden took Rachel Elnaugh after the series 2 had ended. Doug Richard Farleigh Richard Replaced in series 3 and 4, then was replaced by James Caan.
The current presenters are Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and James Caan. My favorite is closely monitored by Peter Duncan and James.
The format of the program is that employers stay ahead of the 5 dragons, and present an idea and ask for a specific sum money in exchange for a percentage interest in the company. The Dragons then test them and if they like the idea, to an offer.
In general, the problem is that:
a) The failure of the business concept or idea was quickly identified and discarded
b) The person submitting the idea has little or no knowledge about how business should be run and is sent home
c) The presentation is good, but the idea of not following questions
d) The nature Presenter is considered as unfounded and, therefore, regardless of how the idea is that dragons are reluctant to invest
However, time time, somebody make a decent presentation, usually after a shaky start, answer all questions correctly and be one or more tenders dragons. Corresponds to the employer to negotiate the best deal and opted for one or more Dragons (s) you want to work.
Sometimes, the Dragons demand for a greater proportion when the presenter is ready to give and no agreement is made. I always asked if they have a second chance of light continue to negotiate.
I think the main reason for the success of the program is that it is very informative, interesting, full of drama and captures the essence of the economy where it is headed.
Many people are either redundant or choose to leave their jobs and the decision to start their own business. The main reason to start your own business is the possibility of greater rewards. It is almost impossible for "normal" people to make an extraordinary amount of money on the job.
I try to see the show with my children because I believe that entrepreneurship is almost never taught properly at school and this program is in this respect. We learned a lot from the series and now the children have basic knowledge of how to evaluate a business idea and protect it! I recommend this show to you.
