Public Consultation - Working Draft Code of Practice for road contractors with three or fewer employees
The Health and Safety Authority developed a draft Code of Practice roadworks for entrepreneurs with three or fewer employees that it intends to publish, in accordance with Article 60 of the Safety, Health and Safety at Work 2005 (No. 10 of 2005).

This additional code of practice deals specifically with work in SSWP roads. This code of practice may be used by any enterprise engaged in road construction.
Operation lifts
After a recent fatal accident involving the operation of a forklift, the Health Authority and Security asks all employers to ensure the lifts in their premises have been the subject of scrutiny is necessary for a competent person.The HSAA advise all employers in all sectors including Elevators servers in the floor and dumb, are subject to the requirements Chapter 2 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) [SI No.299 and 732, 2007]. Employers are required to keep records of equipment Lifting also be available for inspection by an inspector from the HSA. Employers who currently have or lifts for passengers or goods in their local must ensure that they have undergone the scrutiny required and the risks associated with the use of elevators are addressed in Declaration on Security to ensure that these risks are controlled.

Electro-Technical Council of Ireland (ETCI) launched its new publication ET215 Guide 2008 for maintenance, inspection and testing of portable devices (electrical appliances and tools) in the middle work. This guide is intended to help employers meet their legal obligations in this regard. The Guide is available for free download.
